Senior Mechanical Engineers and Mechanical Engineers for Defence and Civil Nuclear Projects

Based in Derby, Derbyshire.

The business has more than 50 years’ experience in both the Civil and Defence sectors within the Nuclear Industry. Through its 2,000+ dedicated Nuclear employees, they have gained a virtually unique understanding and capability across the lifecycle of complex Nuclear projects and assets, specifically in the area of building of new Nuclear installations and assets including: providing engineering support, decommissioning and waste management, laboratory services and programme and project management, to name but a few.

Exciting new developments in response to the growth in the Nuclear sector, leads to new Mechanical Engineering Discipline positions becoming available.

Overview of Role:
The Client requires skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineers and Senior Mechanical Engineers to review and assess concessions, manufacturing procedures and manufacturing drawings of Reactor Pressure Vessels, against safety justification and design intent.

Key Responsibilities:
Design of high integrity equipment (RPV) in a manufacturing environment. Working in Defence or Civil Nuclear industries. Dealing with NDE and welding issues. Reviewing and assessing manufacturing documentation against specifications. SME’s and ME’s need to be team players and able to work flexibly and closely with team members and indeed other Disciplines within the project scope.

Essential Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Desirable Qualifications: Chartered Mechanical Engineering (for Senior Mechanical Engineer role)

Experience Required: Design of Pressure Vessels, preferably Reactor Pressure Vessels. Familiar with relevant applicable current standards and modern practices.

Security Clearance Required: SC

Due to the immediacy of this role it is preferable if candidates are already SC cleared.
