An excellent opportunity for Applied Physicists, Engineers or Mathematical modellers who wish to develop expertise in fluid flow, heat transfer and related technologies. Our clients interests include modelling the behaviour of nuclear reactor systems, especially under fault conditions. Their customers for this work come from government and private industry, and the nature of the work varies from the provision of independent safety advice to research into new nuclear technology.




£25k to £45k

Key Responsibilities

The provision of independent nuclear safety advice to major customers in the UK nuclear sector.

The provision of technical consultancy within the UK nuclear sector, including analysing problems and developing solutions.

Application, testing and validation of computer codes to simulate nuclear reactor performance and behaviour.

Involvement in research tasks in the civil or defence nuclear sectors.

The production of technical reports to record the outcome of your work.

Representing the Department in technical meetings with clients and third parties.

Presentation of work to customers and third parties.

Project management.

Delivering your work to agreed timescales and budget.

Identifying new business opportunities.

Leading/assisting with the production of contract proposals and bids.
