Environmental Radioactivity Consultants

The successful candidate will be involved in a range of projects. They will undertake studies on a wide range of subjects, which could include the assessment of radioactive discharges, environmental modelling, providing technical input into BPM/BPEO studies.

They may also be involved in data gathering exercises and in helping members of the team liaise with clients and this will involve some travel to sites around the United Kingdom.

Initially working as part of a small team, the successful candidate will be encouraged to take responsibility for specific tasks within a project and will be expected to contribute to the presentation of results to customers, either in the form of a report, or as a presentation.

They will also be expected to support other team members with business development activities from time to time.

 

Location

 

Harwell, Oxfordshire or Risley, Cheshire

Salary

 

£30k depending on skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

 

The successful candidate will be involved in a range of consultancy projects.

These typically include:

Assessing the impact of radioactivity in the environment.

Assessment of radioactive discharges from nuclear facilities.

Environmental modelling (atmospheric dispersion, marine dispersion, foodchain).

Impact of radioactivity on non-humans.

BPM/BPEO studies.

Regulatory support.

Preparing regulatory submissions.

Advising on operational safety issues.

Emergency response.

Duties in relation to these projects could involve:

Provision of technical consultancy.

Assistance to project management.

Report writing.
