ERS are seeking a very senior Safety & Security Engineering Manager to join our clients core team responsible for Security and Industrial Safety across all aspects of the UK EPR Programme.

We are seeking a very senior Safety & Security Engineering Manager to join our clients core team responsible for Security and Industrial Safety across all aspects of the UK EPR Programme.

The role is to ensure that the delivery of the UK EPR programme is in conformance with all statutory requirements for industrial safety and security and that a proactive approach is adopted to ensuring the highest standards are achieved and maintained in this field.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and excellent personal example. Develop and maintain an effective and efficient HSS Management System which will ensure compliance with all UK statutory requirements Liaise as required with the relevant statutory authorities to ensure a full understanding of their current and future requirements Provide assurance to the project management team that the programme is delivering on improvement targets. As a part of this, maintain and develop a set of leading and lagging indicators to direct and inform the overall HSS programme Ensure the current and continuing HSS capability on the programme and provide functional leadership Monitor (via a programme of HSS inspections, tours and audits) and report to the project management team on HSS performance and, where necessary, make recommendations for improvement.

Monitor any corrective action through to closure Educate and inform at all levels in the programme on HSS issues. Ensure the identification of health, safety and environmental training needs, and monitor the delivery Bring to the programme best practice in HSS management. Engage with people at all levels on the programme to consult on, and deliver innovative programmes for the continuous improvement of HSS performance Engage with our client to understand their HSS improvement programmes and create opportunities to support and enhance these. ential Qualifications

Degree-level qualified in a science related subject and possess, or be working towards, CMIOSH status or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications

French language skills

Experience Required

At least five years professional experience in a senior HSS role gained preferably gained on major programmes in the Nuclear or in a related sector. Knowledge of OSHAS 18001 and UK security standards. Experience of implementing CDM on major programmes A good level of IT literacy and a flexible, organised and proactive approach A natural communicator, with excellent influencing skills.
