Reporting to the Vice President HSSEQ, you will be responsible for leading improvement in all aspects of conventional health, safety and environmental performance. This is a diverse role, offering a wide range of experience in the Nuclear sector, advising on conventional health, safety and environmental management across Nuclear’s UK based businesses. We are looking for an enthusiastic and self motivated person to promote and monitor excellent standards of HSE across all aspects of the business. The key to this role will be the ability to promote the implementation of best practices in health, safety and environmental management including the further development of an enthusiastic HSE culture that delivers continuous improvement in HSE performance.


Booths Park but some UK and international travel will be required

Job Responsibilities

Provide leadership and excellent personal example.

Develop and maintain an effective and efficient HSE Management System.

Provide assurance to the business that we are delivering on our improvement targets. As a part of this, maintain and develop a set of leading and lagging indicators to direct and inform the overall health, safety and environment programme.

Ensure the current and continuing HSE capability for the UK based businesses. Monitor (via regular site safety inspections, tours and audits) and report to the operational VPs and to the VP HSSEQ on health, safety and environment performance and, where necessary, make recommendations for improvement, monitor any corrective action through to closure.

Educate and inform at all levels in the business on health, safety and environmental issues. Ensure the identification of health, safety and environmental training needs, and monitor the delivery.

Engage with our key clients to understand their HSE improvement programmes and create opportunities to support and enhance these.

Work with the supply chain to ensure that they are fully engaged in, and supporting, the health safety and environment programme.
