Salary: £35k to £45k depending on qualifications and experience

Location: Harwell based with national travel

We are looking for Bid writers to join our clients, who are involved in a range of projects in the civil nuclear area.

To support their continuing expansion, they require an experienced bid writer / manager with proven track record in the nuclear sector.

The post will be full-time and based at their Harwell (Oxfordshire) location and will report to one of their business area managers.  Some travel to other offices and client premises will be required.

The duties will include:

Interpreting and clarifying customer requirements;

Planning the production of bids of a wide range of sizes and complexities;

Technical and commercial writing (input to bids);

Engaging with colleagues, partners and suppliers to secure appropriate input to bids;

Collation of bid inputs to create customer-ready documents;

Producing costing information to help bidding and pricing decision making;

Management and maintenance of standard bid materials;

Submission and follow-up of bids with the customer.

We are looking for applicants with the following experience and qualities:

Fully competent in the use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel;

Enthusiasm for working with people with motivation to ‘get things done’;

Logical and accurate approach to working;

Ability to convey bid themes / messages in a consistent, reliable and convincing way;

Experience of successful working in a bid production role in the nuclear sector;

Commitment to delivery of bids to customers “on time, every time”.

Remuneration: A competitive salary (in the range £35k to £45k) and remuneration package will be agreed depending on qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
