Our client is seeking a Facility Engineer (Hydrus) to provide engineering support to the new Hydrodynamics Facility (Hydrus) to prepare it for operations. The post will be part of the Hydrus project to ensure that the facility is commissioned into operation. After commissioning the post holder take up a key Facility Engineering role within the new Hydrodynamics Facility.

Job Responsibilities

Member of a team of engineering, technical and non-technical staff for support services for the commissioning and pre-operational phases of the facility’s programme.

Support the Facility Engineering manager in establishing the key facility engineering functions of modification control, configuration management, work control, maintenance management and technical support required for the Hydrus facility.

Provide an engineering support function during the design and commissioning phases and liaise with the Major Projects engineering group for design, commissioning and other specialist input.

Provide, as appropriate, advice and guidance on technical engineering standards, applicable legislation and Company processes and procedures.

Provide advice and input to ensure effective work control arrangements are established.

Work with the Hydrus project staff to ensure that an acceptable level of configuration baselines exists at facility handover and are maintained during operations.

Work with the Hydrus project staff to develop the facility’s maintenance requirements to ensure that plant, particularly that which may affect safety, is inspected, tested and maintained in accordance with defined EMIT and other maintenance schedules.

Work with the Hydrus project staff to develop the facility’s engineering and commissioning documentation.

Work with the Hydrus project team to identify acceptable level of operational availability, reliability and maintainability of plant within safe operational limits.

Ensure risks associated with engineering activities are assessed and appropriate controls and precautions are in place.

Develop an understanding of the Facility Safety Case on matters relating to engineering operations and systems.
