Our client is seeking a Electronic Research Task Leader as a member of the control systems emerging technologies (CSET) team, develop a capability in modelling and characterising semi-conductor devices. This capability shall be delivered in partnership with academia and industry.

Job Responsibilities

Coordinate the delivery of internal and external research on emerging technology for control systems implementation in support of programme elements as tasked by line management.

Liaise with Radiation Science Group to understand and co-operate with their programme to develop radiation tolerant electronics.

Manage external contracts with industry and academia.

Lead a programme of work to develop a capability to characterise semi-conductor devices.

Manage the elements of the emerging technologies component research tasks for control systems.

Evaluation and recommendation on appropriate external providers for emerging technology research suitable for high integrity control systems.

Liaise with other groups, sections and contractors involved in the specification and/or development of technology in support of Programme Element activities, placing and monitoring contracts where necessary.

Ensure research is focussed to meet programme requirements.

Maintain at all times adequate records and documentation to demonstrate fitness for purpose of the research and to ensure that customer quality requirements as laid down in the relevant Quality Plan are satisfied.

Plan and monitor progress of work carried out, reporting deviations appropriately.

Liaise with US colleagues with respect to information interchange or collaborative programmes on emerging technology research programmes.

Manage staff working in the task area.

Ensure understanding and apply responsibilities with regard to the company’s environmental, health, safety, security and quality standards Close out any raised quality or safety deficiencies to agreed timescales.

Ensure his/her performance and development is actively managed to meet current and future business needs.
