ERS has a Client seeking to appoint a Project Engineer, assisting the Project Lead to manage projects at the decommissioning of Trawsfynydd power station being undertaken by TSIF to the required safety and quality standards in a timely and cost conscious manner and to manage sub-contracts accordingly.

Job responsibilities

Assisting the Project Lead to manage projects at the decommissioning of Trawsfynydd power station being undertaken by TSIF to the required safety and quality standards in a timely and cost conscious manner.

To manage his sub-contracts.

To check and expedite procurement contracts, process invoices, etc.

To assist in the preparation of weekly/monthly reports.

To monitor costs and variations of subcontracts To visit sub-contractors to progress the work and report on it.

To monitor programme deliverables To liaise with client and other partner organisations as necessary.

To monitor and progress the project design teams.

Skills, Knowledge and Special Attributes Needed

It is preferable that newly recruited post-holders would hold a HND, or Engineering Degree, or have a level of experience equivalent.

The post-holder requires:

A basic working knowledge of nuclear (preferred) and conventional plant.

For the Civil Stream a basic working knowledge of civil engineering and the construction industry is required.

A basic understanding of Contract conditions

Basic Financial Skills.

Skill in written and oral communication.

The ability to communicate, organise, co-ordinate and motivate others.

A technical background is required.

The project engineer should be able to impose themselves on the design team to avoid over-complication / over elaboration in the design of what will, in many cases, be innovative solutions.

The project engineer shall be capable to forecast manpower requirements and understand planning requirements.

Detailed knowledge of P3e is not required.

The projects involved range in scope from conceptual design phase, Engineering Gate 3 & 4 approvals, manufacture, installation and commissioning.
